About The Position

The Community Living Services Instructor role at NCI Affiliates involves teaching independent living skills to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Requirements

• Must be able to successfully pass a Live Scan background check.
• Must have a California Driver's License for at least 2 years with no major infractions in the last 4 years.
• Obtain a high school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to be flexible with your work schedule according to company needs.
• Have patience, compassion, and ability to be a role model for adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach independent living skills to individuals in their homes or community.
• Assist individuals with daily living skills, budgeting, and navigating public transport.
• Ensure appointments are attended and medication is taken appropriately.
• Develop and educate individuals on interaction and social skills within the community.
• Instruct and encourage the development of client advocacy skills.
• Enhance financial management skills through education.
• Improve individuals' understanding of safeguarding against abuse or exploitation.
• Facilitate the acquisition and improvement of adaptive skills and behaviors.
