About The Position

The Part-Time School-Based Clinician works at the Cobble Hill School of American Studies High School in Brooklyn NY. The position is responsible for the delivery of age-relevant program activities and direct services, outreach, and paperwork for billing and clinical purposes. The School-Based Clinician will report to the Site Manager and/or Clinical Program Manager. The School-Based Clinician position is a part-time position, 3-4 days a week supervised by the Site Manager. The salary is $27.84-$31.25. How You'll Be Making a Difference Responsible for a caseload of students, including maintaining attendance and educational progress, providing students and families with continuous feedback and resources to meet the needs and ensure academic success Provides individual and group counseling to students on a weekly basis Supports and co-facilitates classroom sessions – Advisory, Side by Side, and/or SEL curriculum Provides outreach to students and their families, including phone calls, written correspondence, and home visits Facilitates communication between students, families, and school staff Provides crisis counseling, conflict mediation and social-emotional support Completes screenings, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and provides referrals Facilitates use of evaluation tools for school-based services Timely completion of required documentation for clinical and billing purposes (EMR Dr. Cloud) Participates in staff meetings and staff development opportunities Collaborates on transdisciplinary team of Wediko and school staff to create individualized plans to support student progress Participates in PBIS and other multi-tiered systems of supports in the school Occasional evening and weekend hours required (occasional school events, college visits, etc.) Supports the facilitation of professional development workshops for school staff Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with school staff and other school-based partners Represents The Home for Little Wanderers in the field via participation or presentations at panels, conferences, meetings, etc. Supports the implementation of the Community School Model

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in mental health/counseling (e.g., MSW, M.S. Ed in Counseling, MFT, etc.)
  • Licensed professional strongly preferred
  • Clinical supervision and client contact hours towards independent licensure
  • 1-3 years’ experience working within or managing programs serving youth and families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as some weekends/evenings in support of school events
