Part Time Class B Driver (Weekends Only)

We are looking for an energetic driver to handle routes from our facilities across Chicago and the surrounding areas daily. Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 6pm-2:30 AM

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record
Air brake endorsement and experience operating vehicles with air brakes
Experience driving a 26-ft box truck and using a power jack (3+ years preferred)
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently

Responsibilities

Have variety with an opportunity to drive all company vehicles for customer routes in and around the metro Chicago area.
Be given the trust and respect to be responsible for loading, packing, and inventorying deliveries
Complete all necessary paperwork regarding the deliveries made.
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working conditions
Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles for a maximum of 50 lbs
Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
The driver will be responsible for completing a full pre-trip inspection.
They will need to load and unload their own truck using a power jack.
All materials must be properly secured using straps.
Most routes will be between Hillside and McCook, with occasional local deliveries.
