The Part-Time CERT Culinary Skills Trainer position involves providing individualized support for interns during their internship rotation to help them acquire competitive and marketable skills. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including instructors, internship department managers, and family members, to ensure the success of the students being trained. The trainer will assist with task analysis, job coaching, and instructional support in a classroom and lab setting, focusing on students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The position is part-time, requiring 25-30 hours of work per week when the program is in session.

  • Provide individualized support for interns during the internship rotation.
  • Communicate effectively with instructors, other skills trainers, and relevant personnel.
  • Perform specific task analysis for students struggling to learn tasks.
  • Assist in completing assessments to determine intern abilities and internship task demands.
  • Carry out job coaching plans with students and other parties.
  • Work with various stakeholders to problem-solve training and employment issues.
  • Provide instructional and employment training support in a classroom and lab setting.
  • Train students in grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behavior for successful employment.
  • Provide travel training for job placement when necessary.
  • Attend training to stay updated on best practices in supported employment.
  • Participate in decision-making processes for training strategies.
  • Adhere to and promote standards of the host business.
  • Submit and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Recognize and act concerning the safety and welfare of consumers.
  • Demonstrate accountability for assigned hours and attendance.
  • Work as a productive team member with various stakeholders.
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals.
  • A minimum of three years recent experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a formal classroom setting.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email, and the internet.
  • Demonstrated effective people skills and communication skills.
