About The Position

Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of City cemeteries. This position supports grounds maintenance, equipment operation, and customer service functions while ensuring safety standards are met.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience with grounds maintenance or outdoor work preferred
Valid Kansas Driver’s License required
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate maintenance and grounds equipment

Responsibilities

Assist with mowing, trimming, and general grounds maintenance of cemeteries
Operate mowers, tractors, dump trucks, and other equipment in a safe manner
Assist with grave site preparation, including digging, backfilling, and setting markers
Perform litter control and debris removal throughout cemetery grounds
Assist with snow and debris removal following inclement weather
Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs to equipment and facilities
Assist with tree upkeep and removal as directed
Follow all safety procedures and correct minor safety concerns when observed
Assist with special projects and community needs as assigned
Provide courteous assistance to the public and answer basic questions regarding cemetery policies and procedures
