ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex). We are looking for a skilled Part Time Carpenter to join our team.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Carpenter
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and codes
  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen with a US issued Passport or valid issued Real ID
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Unassisted
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Clear and effective written and communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and physical
  • Must have availability M-F, with a daily schedule to be determined with supervision after hire

Responsibilities

  • Use of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, nail guns, chisels, and sanders
  • Planning and laying out of carpentry work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions
  • Design and install cabinets, shelves, drywall, and insulation
  • Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
  • Paint structures and equipment
  • Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
  • Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
  • Hang doors and install door locks
  • Consult other construction professionals to ensure the best possible results and the final product
  • Install wooden structures such as roofing framers, joists, partitions, rafters, and stud work
  • Build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects
  • Perform other general maintenance duties as assigned
