This Part Time Care Specialist position is responsible for providing personal care assistance and protective oversight to residents at The Fountains and The Commons, ensuring their needs and requests are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age required.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that align with the values of Hilltop’s Assisted Living Communities (ALCs), including Service 1 (how we treat each other) and Service 2 (how we treat our residents), by setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
  • Provide protective oversight of residents, including assisting residents, maintaining a safe physical environment, redirecting and assisting disoriented or confused residents, applying and following house rules and honoring resident rights, appropriately reporting and assisting residents experiencing difficulties, and identifying and monitoring visitors to the facility.
  • Provide social supervision, including helping with transport and ambulation to events, assisting with communication of and attendance to social events, sending, delivering and reading mail upon request, and assisting with general socialization.
  • Provide for the sanitation and safety of residents, including monitoring the safety of the living and common areas, removing and reporting any safety hazards, maintaining safety supplies, and redirecting residents away from unsafe areas or situations.
  • Assist with transportation, including assisting riders on and off of the transport bus or van.
  • Do laundry, including resident’s personal laundry (linens, towels, aprons, washcloths as needed), and cleaning of laundry areas.
  • Assist residents with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, taking them to the dining room, preparing them for bed, etc.).
  • Promote and participate in positive customer relations by learning and using resident names; acknowledging residents and visitors; answering the phone as needed; having knowledge of the facility, where to direct people, and how to access resources; maintaining confidentiality; and demonstrating a positive attitude.
  • Answer radio, pager, and the resident request system.
