About The Position

The Part-Time Bus Driver operates a school bus and/or other passenger vehicle on a substitute basis under general supervision. Responsibilities include arranging bus schedule relief driving, assisting in the maintenance and setting up of bus routes, and training new bus drivers. The position requires performing simple bus maintenance as needed, with flexible work hours that may vary depending on department needs.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the Nevada Motor Vehicle Code and the Nevada Educational Code applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting students and other passengers.
• Ability to maintain vehicles in a clean and safe condition.
• Ability to monitor routes and schedules and respond to uncovered routes.
• Ability to perform first aid as required.
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Valid Nevada Class 'B' Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
• Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate.
• Original Social Security Card.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• Third Party Certification Training Certificate for licensing purposes.

Responsibilities

• Keep detailed records as required.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $20.40.
• On-call basis only.
• Cannot exceed 760 hours in a school year.
