We have an opening for a Part-Time Bus Driver. Pay $16.50/hr and up, based on experience Lakeview Bus Drivers are responsible for provides safe and timely on-campus and off-campus transportation assistance to Lakeview residents. Assists other staff members for resident/community events as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must have at least a Class B or Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsements, or be willing to obtain one; must maintain all legal requirements for keeping a valid CDL.
Must have current CPR certification.
Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks appropriately, and exercise sound judgement where procedures cannot be standardized.
Must demonstrate excellent safety judgement and problem-solving skills.
Ability to administer and follow straightforward written or verbal instructions.
Ability to interpret bus schedules.
Ability to learn the mechanics of a bus.
Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.

Responsibilities

Provides transportation services for all Lakeview residents on a daily basis.
Ensures that residents are taken to the appropriate locations, in a timely manner, according to daily bus logs.
Assists Lakeview residents in getting on and off of the bus. This may involve physical contact and assistance with items such as groceries, shopping materials, or other personal items.
Serves as a “bridge” in communication between residents and staff, reporting pertinent information to the appropriate team member.
Reports changes or concerns regarding resident behavior to the Bus Driver Supervisor, Activities Coordinator, or the Director of Community Life and Wellness.
Acts as a leader during a resident outing or trip.
Follows all local and Lakeview traffic guidelines.
Consistently observes the speed limit and stop signs.
Ensures that the buses are kept clean and in good working order.
Attends and participates in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
Maintains proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procedures.
Creates, role-models, and maintains a professional, team-oriented setting among staff, residents, families, and guests.
