About The Position

The Restaurant Server at Somerset Hills Hotel, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is responsible for ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing prompt and courteous food and beverage services. The role involves greeting and taking food and drink orders, serving the orders, and accommodating special needs or requests. The server must remain attentive to customers throughout their dining experience, adhering to service standards. Responsibilities also include completing restocking and cleaning duties, memorizing menu items and specials, maintaining cleanliness standards, controlling guest checks, and responding to customer inquiries. A professional appearance and demeanor are essential, along with the ability to handle customer service problems tactfully.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Three to six months of experience in a food/beverage services environment.
• Ability to clearly see detailed guest checks and written instructions.
• Manual coordination to punch buttons and carry trays.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to lift, push, and carry 20 - 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand continuously for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers.
• Serve orders and accommodate special needs/requests.
• Remain attentive to customers throughout the dining experience.
• Complete all restocking and cleaning duties as instructed.
• Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials.
• Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant and service areas.
• Control allocated guest checks and document required information.
• Receive proper payment from guests and ensure accuracy of checks.
• Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings.
• Respond to customer inquiries and comments.
• Present a clean and professional appearance.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
