About The Position

The Part-Time Audiologist position at Auburn University at Montgomery involves providing clinical instruction and supervision of audiology clinical activities for undergraduate and doctoral students. The role includes coordinating comprehensive audiological testing and evaluation services, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, counseling patients and their families, and documenting clinical interactions. The audiologist will also ensure a safe and organized work environment, maintain licensure through continuing education, and participate in community outreach.

Requirements

  • Doctorate of audiology degree.
  • Experience equivalent to three years of employment in audiology or related work.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical instruction and supervision of audiology clinical activities for undergraduate students and act as a clinical preceptor for doctoral students.
  • Provide and coordinate direct and comprehensive audiological testing and evaluation services to patients.
  • Determine need for and administer appropriate tests and measures, assess test results, and plan and carry out habilitative/rehabilitative care.
  • Evaluate, fit, program, and dispense hearing aids and amplification systems to patients.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding evaluation results and plan of care.
  • Document all clinical patient interactions and ensure reports are signed and placed in patient charts.
  • Document student goals and assessments of their skills.
  • Ensure work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, and efficient environment.
  • Complete necessary continuing education to maintain an Alabama license to practice audiology.
  • Attend required program meetings.
  • Participate in/organize community education and outreach.
