About The Position

The Part-Time Assistant of Athletics Operations at Saline Area Schools provides essential administrative support to the Director of Athletics. This role involves managing student-athlete eligibility, coordinating transportation for athletic events, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with district policies. The assistant will also maintain departmental records, assist in scheduling events, and serve as a liaison with outside organizations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Knowledge of office management procedures.

  • College level coursework in sports management and coaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the first layer of student-athlete eligibility.
  • Coordinates transportation to away athletic contests.
  • Processes payments for contest workers through Arbiter.
  • Works with the athletic trainer to ensure all student-athletes have completed medical clearance for participation.
  • Manages the day-to-day financial operations of the Athletic Department, including processing invoices and deposits, management of student-activity accounts, and invitational and tournament fees.
  • Assists with any department files or records, including collecting and collaborating travel forms for any athletic field trips.
  • Prepares, copies, and distributes notices, memoranda, or other correspondence regarding athletic activities, events, or other matters.
  • Assists in coordinating athletic department activities and functional responsibilities related to subject areas over which the athletic department has oversight.
  • Attends athletic department and other related meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Assists in maintaining the daily/weekly/monthly calendar of the Director of Athletics for coordinating work-related appointments, activities, meetings, etc.
  • Assists in planning and scheduling department events and activities, and maintaining the calendar of department events.
  • Assists in maintaining documents, files, and records for providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
  • Answers telephone calls and provides information and assistance to callers.
  • Serves as liaison with outside organizations related to department activities and work.
