About The Position

Homestead Veterinary Hospital (HVH) is seeking a Part Time Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join our predominantly equine, multi-doctor practice in Villa Ridge, Missouri. We’re looking for a passionate, team-oriented veterinarian with strong communication skills and a desire to deliver exceptional client care. A special interest in sports medicine and lameness is highly desired, but all qualified applicants will be considered. HVH is a 6-doctor practice serving a diverse caseload of 70% equine, 25% small animal, and 5% small ruminant patients. Our practice supports all disciplines of equine sports - from backyard companions to elite sport horses. While primarily ambulatory, our 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art hospital features four stalls (including two mare/foal stalls and isolation), indoor stocks, and on-site RVTs providing 24-hour care as needed.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Current DEA license or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Active veterinary state license.
  • Experience as a veterinarian or a new graduate welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary care to small animal patients.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and treatments including pre-purchase exams, lameness evaluations, regenerative medicine, and more.
  • Participate in emergency care as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with a team of veterinarians and support staff.
