Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Active or eligible Florida veterinary license.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD licensure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, positive, and collaborative demeanor with both staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and assist with larger patients or equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples; interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide compassionate counsel around pet end-of-life care.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and all relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
