About The Position

The Part-Time Associate (Produce) plays a crucial role in the Store Operations Team by providing excellent customer service, maintaining store sections, and ensuring a great shopping experience for customers. This position involves stocking shelves, operating cash registers, and assisting customers with their purchases, all while adhering to sanitation standards.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English and interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and may order, receive and stock merchandise using proper equipment.
• Assure proper pricing on merchandise and check product date codes to validate proper rotation.
• Stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays and review invoices/bills for accuracy.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot as directed by store management.
• Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and process transactions.
• Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers.
• Load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies.
