We’re looking for engineering students who are ready to make an impact! Join our team as Associate Machinists if you have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for learning! In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining a select range of machine types in an industrial environment. We’re looking for candidates with a knack for understanding machines and tools, and a desire to grow their skills in a hands-on, fast-paced setting. While this position works under close supervision, it offers a great opportunity to build your expertise and make a difference. Part-time position, Monday to Friday, totaling 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Technical Operation: Proficient in operating machine equipment and handling tools safely and effectively.
  • Critical Thinking: Identifies gap-to-standard and resolves or escalates them by standard processes/procedures.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrates basic understanding of mechanical systems and components. Ability to use inspection gaging and hand/power tools.
  • Team Communication: Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors to support workflow and escalate immediate issues.

  • Time Management: Proactively prioritizes time to complete tasks within established schedules. Recognizes potential impact to efficiency and collaborates with Team Lead to resolve.

  • Collaboration: Works cooperatively with team members to support overall team objectives and workflow. Works well with team members and accepts feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic familiarity or entry-level experience with CNC machining is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Document non-conforming material according to procedures participate in activities to implement root cause and corrective actions identified.
  • Utilize work instructions and method documents to produce and inspect machines parts.
  • Clean and maintain measuring instruments and test equipment and inspect parts for cleanliness (e.g., routed and deburring operations).
  • Operates inspection equipment.
  • Perform routed operations of parts.
  • Follows all departmental safety rules and regulations.
