Part-Time Assistant for Research on Plant Chemical and Morphological Traits - López-Uribe Lab
About The Position
The López-Uribe Lab is hiring a part-time employee to work on the development and implementation of methods measuring a wide variety of chemical traits on plants in greenhouse experiments. A successful candidate must have great organizational skills and attention to detail. Extensive experience in successfully collecting research data from a wide variety of biochemical assays is necessary. A successful candidate will also have proven skills for learning new lab techniques and troubleshooting lab protocols. Responsibilities
- Modifying existing biochemical protocols from the literature to use for measuring traits on Brassica plants
- Testing and troubleshooting biochemical protocols
- Collecting biochemical and morphological trait data on Brassica plants, including but not limited to: seed oil content, volatiles, various floral morphological measurements,
- Assisting with growing and managing plants in growth chambers for use an experimental evolution study
- Assisting with developing methods to conduct bumble bee pollination treatments of Brassica plants
- Assisting with data curation, data analysis, and drafting peer reviewed paper
