About The Position

This is an ongoing posting to recruit temporary assistant coaches for the sports offered by Elmhurst University’s athletic program. Positions are temporary and seasonal, and openings may become available at various times throughout the year. Cover letters submitted with applications should clearly state which sport an applicant is applying to coach. A listing of Elmhurst University sports is available here. These positions assist a sport’s head coach with day-to-day operations of the program. Qualified applicants understand the mission of the NCAA, Division III athletics, and the role of an athletic department in creating a positive environment for student-athletes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Organization skills and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

Assists the head coach in the organization and operation of an effective and competitive sport program.
Supports the head coach in the coordination of recruiting student-athletes.
Attends all pre-season conditioning and non-traditional season practices for the sport.
Attends and participates in all team planning sessions with coaching staff.
Aids in the planning, organization, and execution of all in-season practice sessions for the sport.
Conducts coaching during intercollegiate contests as set and assigned by the head coach.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of Elmhurst University, NCAA, and CCIW rules and regulations.
Adheres to NCAA Compliance Regulations.
Understands and supports the mission, vision, and values of Elmhurst University.
Performs other duties as assigned.
