Arthrex is actively searching for a Part-Time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant (APRN/PA) for our Pendleton, SC onsite medical clinic. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Physician Assistant (PA) will be responsible for providing primary care diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up under the supervision of the lead physician. The advanced practice provider will have an emphasis and background in preventive and lifestyle medicine.

Requirements

• Must have a current license to practice professionally in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified in the state of South Carolina.
• 5+ years of clinical experience as an APRN/PA preferred.
• Certification in adult health or family health preferred.
• Interest in public health and preventative lifestyle medicine preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Current certification and skill in basic life support (BLS) and ACLS preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently.
• Spanish speaking a plus.
• Experience with EMR systems a plus.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
• Florida APRN/PA licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients, assisting in coordinating medical care, counseling, and educating employees/patients, and reviewing test results.
• Working in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, allowing for consultation, collaboration, or referral.
• Providing telephonic on-call support after hours.
• Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues, including assisting in identifying cardiovascular disease and implementing risk reduction strategies.
• Educating patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
• Maintaining legible, accurate, and confidential medical records.
• Documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with NCQA and JCAHO standards.
• Facilitating evaluation of records by physician(s), peers, and implementing constructive directives.
• Analyzing new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and assimilating this knowledge into clinical practice.
• Analyzing and implementing programs that will help contain healthcare costs with special emphasis on diagnosing and treating diabetes.
• Comfortably and accurately utilizing an electronic medical record.
• Professionally interacting with offsite medical providers in generation and tracking of referrals.
• Developing and/or implementing preventive medicine, health promotion, employee screening, and education initiatives.
• Working within the scope of the South Carolina Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Guidelines and Arthrex Family Medical Center protocols.
• Performing complex administrative and office-related activities requiring considerable judgment, high degree of initiative, and independent action.
• Supporting and encouraging all corporate health initiatives and wellness programs.
• Being able to work at all AMC locations if necessary, with the possibility of a rotating schedule.
• Performing all other duties as assigned.
