What You’ll Do: The Apprentice Technician assists in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of company fleet vehicles while providing general shop support to ensure efficient daily operations by ensuring cleanliness, assisting technicians with tools and equipment, and helping the shop run efficiently. Apprentice works closely with shop staff and contributes to a productive, safety-focused work environment. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in transportation maintenance and offers hands-on training under the supervision of certified technicians. This role is part-time. Hours: Monday-Friday 8 AM-12 PM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and stay organized
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven environment
  • Dependable, responsible team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical and background checks

Responsibilities

  • Perform oil changes on fleet vehicles
  • Assist with diesel particulate filter cleaning
  • Perform brake inspections and assist with brake repairs
  • Performs general maintenance of the service department including sweeping, cleaning and other maintenance tasks as needed
  • Assist shop employees with tools, equipment, and material requests
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the tool room
  • Clean shop areas and maintain used oil containers
  • Crush and properly contain used oil filters
  • Pressure wash exterior bay and shop areas as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
