About The Position

Hospice of The Western Reserve operates in celebration of the individual worth of each life, striving to relieve suffering, enhance comfort, promote quality of life, foster choice in end-of-life care, and support effective grieving. This position is on-site and requires about 15 hours per week. As an integral part of the Development team, the Development Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of activities to support team members in maximizing financial support to realize the mission and vision of Hospice of the Western Reserve. The role includes cross-training with the Gift processor and assisting in the daily operations of the team as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration or a related field, and experience in an administrative staff position and a fundraising environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Blackbaud's Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising/CRM software; Customer Insights or One Cause.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products, especially mail merge, pivot tables, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to plan, organize and administer programs and/or projects.
  • Ability to research, compile, and analyze data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks for the development team; assists in day-to-day administration; answers and addresses donor inquiries; performs data searches in CRM and patient database.
  • Serves as a backup/assistant for other team members, particularly in the areas of data gift entry; preparation of donor acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders; supports print and electronic communication efforts of the Development team.
  • Represents the development team on specific matters in liaison with other agency teams or organizations; attends meetings, agency committees or community groups as required to advance the mission of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
  • Attends Foundation Board meetings and presentations; assists with preparation of materials; takes notes and prepares minutes and reports as assigned; maintains related files and records.
  • Performs special projects or assists in routine or special activities; plans and organizes meetings, or other events as assigned.
  • Assists with the procurement process and oversees management of office supplies; maintains inventory of Development storage areas.
  • Performs other administrative duties as requested.
