About The Position

West Hills Community College District is seeking part-time (Adjunct) Faculty for Health courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing and evaluating students in various formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The position requires a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and effective practices for engaging a diverse student population. Teaching assignments may vary and include day, evening, and weekend courses based on campus needs.

Requirements

• Master's in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition or public health OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any biological science OR the equivalent.
• Evidence of sensitivity and responsiveness to the diversity within the community college student population.
• Requires a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes.
• Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology.
• Incorporate the use of technology in instructional and non-instructional duties.
• Teach courses consistent with the approved Course Outline of Record.
• Assess and evaluate class content and materials to address gaps based on student needs.
• Champion collaborative practices in instruction to create a student-centered environment.
• Work with counseling/advising and student services to support student needs.
• Advise and assist students.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
