About The Position

West Hills Community College District is seeking part-time (Adjunct) Faculty for EMT courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing and evaluating students in various formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The position requires a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and effective practices for engaging a diverse student population. Teaching assignments may vary and include day, evening, and weekend courses based on campus needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, or an associate degree and six years of experience.
• Evidence of sensitivity and responsiveness to racial, ethnic, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with distance education technologies and online class delivery.
• Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes.
• Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology.
• Incorporate the use of technology in instructional and non-instructional duties.
• Teach courses consistent with the approved Course Outline of Record.
• Assess and evaluate class content and materials to address gaps based on student needs.
• Champion collaborative practices in instruction that lead to an active student-centered environment.
• Work with counseling/advising and student services to support student needs.
• Advise and assist students.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
