About The Position

West Hills Community College District is seeking part-time (Adjunct) Faculty for Electronics. The position involves teaching introductory courses designed to help students develop a foundational understanding of the discipline and the skills necessary to meet their educational and career goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for educating a diverse student population through culturally responsive pedagogy and effective practices for engaging students with diverse learning needs. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, and weekend courses, as well as face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes, depending on campus needs and course assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience OR any associate's degree and six years of professional experience.
• Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
• Requires a valid driver's license.
• Evidence of sensitivity and responsiveness to the diversity within the community college student population.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes.
• Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology for instructional and non-instructional duties.
• Incorporate the use of technology in performing instructional and non-instructional duties including distance education technologies.
• Teach courses consistent with the approved Course Outline of Record.
• Assess and evaluate class content and materials, making changes based on student needs.
• Champion collaborative practices in instruction that lead to an active student-centered environment.
• Work with counseling/advising and student services teams to support student needs.
• Advise and assist students.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Benefits

• $68 - $75 per contact hour.
