About The Position

West Hills Community College District is seeking a part-time (Adjunct) Faculty member for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. The position involves teaching and evaluating students in various formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for educating a diverse student population and will utilize effective practices for engaging students with diverse learning needs. Teaching assignments may vary and include day, evening, and weekend courses based on campus needs.

Requirements

• Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate's degree and six years of professional experience.
• Current licensed nurse (RN/LVN) with a non-restricted license.
• Minimum of one year experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility.
• One year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing, or two years of full-time experience as a licensed nurse with at least one year in direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes.
• Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology.
• Incorporate the use of technology in instructional and non-instructional duties.
• Teach courses consistent with the approved Course Outline of Record.
• Assess and evaluate class content and materials to address gaps based on student needs.
• Champion collaborative practices in instruction to create a student-centered environment.
• Work with counseling/advising and student services to support student needs.
• Advise and assist students.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
