About The Position

The Activity Specialist (Part-Time) at the Deputy Darren Almendarez Community Center is responsible for assisting in the implementation of daily activity plans and community-based programs. This role involves supervising and facilitating recreational activities for children and teens, maintaining program records, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for participants under the supervision of the Community Center Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
• Ability to obtain Food Handlers certification within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid and AED certification within 90 days of employment.
• Proficient working knowledge of computers and related software including CIVICREC, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of daily activity plans and center events.
• Complete necessary reporting requirements by maintaining accurate program records including incident reports and daily attendance.
• Provide ongoing communication to the Center Manager and Center Coordinator.
• Promote and organize recreational activities for small and large groups.
• Enforce safety guidelines associated with all program areas.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the center.
• Create a positive and engaging environment for constituents.
• Familiarize with facility rules and regulations and enforce them accordingly.
• Work during business closures to meet operational requirements.
