The Dallastown Area School District seeks a Part-Time, 10-Month Learning Support Paraprofessional for Dallastown Area Middle School (Grades 7-8). As a highly qualified instructional paraprofessional, you'll play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting regular education teachers in the delivery of supports and services for students with IEPs. Your work schedule will follow student attendance full and half days for the remainder of the school year through early June -- with full-day hours of approximately 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM, which includes 5.50 work hours and a half-hour unpaid lunch. Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor. While there are typically no pay periods July through August, you'll enjoy summers off to spend more time with your family. For a full school year, your bi-weekly pays will typically begin by mid-September and continue through late-June.

  • Working one-on-one or with small groups of students as directed by the teacher
  • Aiding in supervision of students in both the classroom and the cafeteria
  • Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises
  • Performing routine clerical work
  • Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
  • High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of a locally developed assessment
  • OR, Associate's Degree or higher
  • OR, at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more)
  • Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year
  • Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children
  • Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others
  • Acceptable record of attendance
  • Immediate inclusion/continuation in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) through payroll contributions
  • Eligibility for paid leave (personal and sick days) after a Probationary Period of 90 calendar days, prorated for the 2024-25 school year based on start date
