About The Position

Requirements

• Four years of professional experience, including two years in social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement; or
• Two years of professional experience in social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement, and an associate's degree; or
• A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, legal studies, political science, behavioral science, or a related field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver's license or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the Parole Agent 1 basic training program at the training academy in Elizabethtown, PA.

• Experience in corrections or law enforcement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise released offenders as they serve their sentences in the community.
• Counsel inmates and prepare them for parole hearings.
• Conduct pre-parole investigations and review inmate cases for domestic violence history.
• Complete sex offender registration and assist in other parole-related processes.
• Orient newly committed offenders about pre-parole services.
• Conduct parole education classes for inmates.
• Serve as a point of contact for families, government agencies, and the public.
