Pima County’s Conservation Lands & Resources Department is seeking highly motivated and hard-working individuals to fill a position as Park Technician II. The position will work within the Parks and Trails Division of Conservation Lands & Resources supporting Pima County’s commitment to conservation. The position will be part of a team that delivers land stewardship, supports landscape and cultural maintenance, construction, campground operations, and restoration projects within Historic Canoa Ranch, a Sonoran Desert habitat. This position performs routine trades or craftsman duties, maintaining and repairing park facilities, grounds, and equipment. Also, participates in construction or renovation activities in parks, and may assist in campground operation. The position is field-oriented, often in remote areas, with exposure to extreme summer temperatures and cold winter temperatures. This is primarily a manual labor position requiring the ability to lift heavy loads, safely operate assigned vehicles and other powered equipment, and frequently involves repetitive individual tasks in a variety of work settings in an outdoor environment. Maintenance may include wildlife drinkers, ponds, equestrian, camp facilities, trails, habitat restoration, erosion control and invasive species.
