The County of Patrick is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Parks & Recreation Director. This is a full-time role that comes with a comprehensive benefits package exceeding $30,000 annually, which includes vacation and sick leave, life and health insurance, and retirement options. The annual salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $70,000. The office hours are set from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, but the role may require evening, weekend, holiday, and flexible or irregular work schedules as needed. The Parks & Recreation Director will be responsible for the overall management of all services and activities within the Parks and Recreation Department. This includes the maintenance of all county parks and related facilities. The director will also be tasked with planning, organizing, promoting, and directing the operations of various sports and fitness programs, activities, services, and special community events. A key aspect of this role is to promote a welcoming environment in recreation and community events that fosters a culture of health, wellness, and fun. Candidates must possess a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in recreation, public administration, physical education, or a related field. Additionally, responsible management/supervisory and administrative experience in recreational programming and social and cultural programs and services is preferred.
