About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in biological or natural sciences or closely related field.
• Valid Florida Class E Driver's License for the duration of appointment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Researches and develops community partnerships; meets with organizations and develops projects unique to each group.
• Schedules, supervises, directs and evaluates staff; hires, disciplines, rates, and interviews potential candidates.
• Conducts environmental educational activities; develops and conducts nature programs and guided hikes for the public, schools, and private organizations.
• Handles inquiries related to environmental issues, volunteering, nature-related events, and community outreach.
• Develops new revenue-generating nature-related programming that is engaging and educational for all age groups.
• Coordinates and oversees various park projects with staff and volunteer groups for habitat rehabilitation and nature programming.
• Performs animal care maintenance, including cleaning, feeding, and training volunteers and staff for animal care tasks.
• Performs front desk reception duties and develops marketing materials, reports, and resource management plans.
