About The Position

In this role, you will... Operate and assist teams in landscaping, tree trimming, and utilizing various landscape equipment, as assigned within common grounds throughout county park locations. Perform work utilizing equipment such as, but no limited to: Mowers, blowers, weed trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, chippers & stump grinders, and various equipment. Cleaning and general maintenance of all equipment to keep in good working order. Completion of daily work orders and other related office duties. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Two (2) years of related experience performing landscaping, tree work or grounds maintenance.
• Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.
• Ability to represent the County to the public in a courteous manner and to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under hot and humid conditions.
• Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
• Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
