About The Position

The Town of Essex Parks and Recreation (EPR) Department is receiving applications for regular full-time employment for a Parks Maintenance Technician I or Parks Maintenance Technician II . Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Parks, Trails and Open Spaces , the Parks Maintenance Technician works to effectively implement safe, aesthetically pleasing, and functional grounds and facilities for the public to enjoy in support of the development, maintenance, and stewardship of a comprehensive system of recreational services. Applicants who have a high school diploma or GED education, a valid driver's license and a minimum of 2 - 4 years overall relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Th e following certifications and experience are a plus but not : Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI), Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Game of Logging (GOL) Class 1, experience driving a snowplow and commercial driver's license (CDL). This is a full-time hourly position covered by our AFSCME union contract.
