About The Position

Basic Functions: Non-exempt, Oversees and performs maintenance of the RV site on Lake Rufus Woods as a seasonal worker which includes but not limited to; grounds maintenance, janitorial service, equipment and facility maintenance; trash removal, visitor assistance, permit sales, record keeping, cash handling, basic security and rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible experience in park maintenance or closely related work
  • Requires a current First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain throughout employment.
  • Must be self-motivated to provide courteous service to the public and show initiative to provide a clean, safe, healthy environment for visitors.
  • Requires a wide range of experience in minor repairs and maintenance of all yard equipment and power tools.
  • Requires sufficient knowledge of and skill at using personal computers, common desktop software, cash handling, basic bookkeeping and telephone etiquette.
  • Requires knowledge of cleaning solutions and hazards; tree and shrub identification; general maintenance of equipment and plumbing and electrical.
  • Requires knowledge of all State and Tribal regulations to assist visitors.
  • Requires working knowledge of the methods and techniques of general construction, maintenance and repair related to parks and recreation.
  • Requires working knowledge of the policies, procedures, and laws governing work and scope of service.
  • Requires knowledge of the operating characteristics and proper use of equipment and tools used in the maintenance and construction of parks maintenance, including medium to heavy machinery, and to train others and observe safe and best practice.
  • Requires knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices sufficient to conduct training and observe work behavior in the field.
  • Requires sufficient human relation skills to work as part of a team and demonstrate courtesy to customers.
  • Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position.
  • Requires the ability to learn, interpret, explain and apply knowledge of all laws and regulations pertaining to Tribal and State fishing and tribal camping.
  • Requires the ability to properly account for all revenues collected.
  • Requires the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with management, staff, and visitors using patience and courtesy, and in a manner that reflects positively on the Colville Tribes and Parks and Recreation.
  • Requires ability to maintain a daily work log.
  • Requires competencies such as the ability to maintain the RV park in a clean, healthy and safe manner.
  • Requires the ability to identify fish species.
  • Requires basic math skills.
  • Requires the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, supervise, establish work standards, review performance, and train others in a variety of labor and semi-skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work in the assigned areas of work.
  • Requires the ability to evaluate and operate a variety of vehicular and stationary mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Requires the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions.
  • Requires the ability to use a personal computer to access and print maps and other printed material and to store field data.
  • Requires the ability to work as contributing member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with other teams and external customers, and convey a positive image of the Tribal government.
  • Requires ability to attend trainings as needed.
  • The position incumbent must be able to function outdoors year round.
  • Requires ambulatory ability to sit for extended periods of time, to utilize microcomputers and peripheral equipment while reconciling revenues and filling out fee tickets for campers.
  • Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone.
  • Requires the ability to retrieve work materials from overhead, waist, and ground level and be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to function indoors in an office environment and outdoors engaged in work of a moderately active nature.
  • Requires the ability to maintain cardio-pulmonary fitness to engage in moderate physical activity.
  • Requires ambulatory ability to move to different work locations and to bend, stoop, climb, and reach to perform inspections.
  • Requires arm, hand, finger dexterity to demonstrate use or operate common tools used in parks maintenance and use a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Requires the ability to function with temperature variations.
  • Requires visual acuity to observe work sites and read written materials and filling out fee documents.
  • Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone, including the ability to project voice in noisy work settings.
