Under the direction of Parks & Recreation Staff, this position will assist in the development and implementation of marketing and communication efforts for department programs, events, and facilities. Work may include: creating and scheduling social media content; capturing photos and videos at programs and events; updating and maintaining website content; assisting with marketing campaigns such as Parks and Recreation Month; developing promotional materials including sponsorship packets and digital assets; supporting the creation of a parks system map; and a variety of other technical and creative tasks including content planning, brand development, and audience engagement strategies. This is an internship opportunity that will be scheduled 30 - 35 hours per week, through the month of August, and is not benefits-eligible. Internship Goals and Objectives: Digital Content & Social Media Management Develop and implement a summer marketing calendar with pre-scheduled content across platforms Create Facebook events for all summer programs and special events Capture high-quality photos and videos at programs, events, and parks Website and Digital Asset Development Create and launch a dedicated Senior Center webpage on Schertz.com Complete a comprehensive refresh of Parks and Recreation webpages Assist in the development of an updated Parks System Map Campaign & Brand Development Develop and execute a Parks and Recreation Month social media campaign Update the 2027 Parks and Recreation Sponsorship Packet with refreshed visuals and messaging Support the development of a Volunteer and Advisory Board recognition program Program & Event Support Support marketing and on-site needs for summer programs and events as needed Ensure timely promotion and post-event recaps to increase community engagement and awareness.
