Requirements

  • Proven ability to maintain accurate financial records and perform account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Inputs and processes accounts payable transactions for the Parks and Recreation Department in the Town's financial software system.
  • Distributes invoices to appropriate managers and supervisors for approval and codes to correct general ledger line(s).
  • Verifies authorized invoices for completeness and mathematical accuracy, making necessary adjustments within Town guidelines.
  • Reconciles accounts, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for resolution.
  • Forwards completed purchase orders and invoices to the Finance Department for payment processing and resolves any issues with them.
  • Reviews expenditures to ensure funds are available and properly allocated to the appropriate accounts.
  • Assists with the preparation of budgetary reports.
  • Provides customer service to vendors, staff, and other departments regarding payment statuses and budgetary matters.
  • Scans and files financial documents.
