About The Position

Parking Services is responsible for issuing parking permits and enforcing university parking rules and regulations on the UAA Main Campus. Parking Services strives to provide adequate parking for all constituents & works with other campus departments to maintain safe, well-lit parking lots, parking garages, pedestrian multi-use trails and campus bus stops. Parking Services manages all aspects of campus access including parking permit sales, parking enforcement, the UAA Safety Services Call Team, alternative transportation programs and funds the Seawolf Shuttle through collection of a student transportation fee. This position will work primarily with the campus community to provide superior customer service related to all aspects of Parking Services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year customer service experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum 6 months experience with cash handling and inventory control.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in cash handling and reconciliation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Strong aptitude for conflict resolution.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with conflict resolution and negotiation.
• A valid Alaska driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service related to all areas of Parking Services.
• Resolve customer conflicts by applying parking policies and procedures in a constructive manner.
• Effectively relay information by a variety of methods to explain directions, rules, and regulations.
• Complete data entry using a computer.
• Work in inclement conditions and stand for several hours at a time.
