Job Description: Parking lot attendants will safely and efficiently direct vehicle traffic to parking lots and spaces during events at Hertz Arena. They will wear a florescent safety vest while using open hand signals and traffic batons to direct incoming/outgoing vehicles. While it is required to stand while directing traffic, there are periods during the event where the attendant can sit.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Employees must have a smart mobile phone with access to internet and email
  • Basic math skills
  • Must have a reliable transportation to get to work
  • Must be reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, patrons and management with English language proficiency
  • Ability to provide superior customer service with clear communication and direction to patrons
  • Ability to anticipate patron needs
  • Ability to make good judgments
  • Ability to ensure security of vehicles and account property
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client/company information
  • Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work alone or cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Employees must have a smart mobile phone with access to internet and email
  • Stand for long periods of time (4-6 hours)
  • Bend, squat, lift, push, and carry up to 25 pounds (signs, cones, barriers, podium, etc.)
  • Ability to work and maintain concentration in all weather conditions (heat, wind, rain)

Responsibilities

  • Directing traffic in a standing position for a 4-5 hour shift with down time in between to allow for seated breaks
  • Greeting and assisting guests by opening doors, directing them to the nearest open parking spots, and helping them to exit vehicles
  • Assisting and directing traffic flow to exit the property
  • Monitoring the parking lot
  • Being alert and aware of surroundings
  • Setting up and breaking down of signage and equipment
  • Using two-way radios to communicate with other team members
  • Observe safety and security procedures
  • Positively representing 5 Star Valet by being respectful to teammates and the public in all situations
