About The Position

The Parking Enforcement Team Member at the University of Notre Dame plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and orderly parking environment on campus. This position involves enforcing parking rules and regulations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that visitors and the campus community have access to authorized parking areas. Team members will work closely with the Notre Dame Police Department and are expected to be proactive in their duties while maintaining a professional demeanor in various situations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, including the campus community and general public.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• A valid driver's license is preferred for utilizing campus vehicles when available.

Responsibilities

• Enforce University Parking Rules & Regulations by patrolling parking lots and issuing citations for violations using electronic handheld devices.
• Provide excellent customer service by directing the campus community to authorized parking areas and offering information on parking passes and pay-to-park resources.
• Utilize proprietary computer equipment and software for parking enforcement tasks.
• Communicate effectively via radio and/or phone with the parking office.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, spending the majority of the shift on foot.
