About The Position

Responsible for the enforcement of parking and traffic ordinances and campground fee compliance on the Homer Spit. Issues citations for specific code violations. Collects parking and camping fees.

Requirements

Two years of experience requiring public contact.
Valid Driver License.
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public.
Requires well developed written and verbal communication skills in maintaining effective relationships with the public and city staff.
Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Responds to questions from the public regarding parking regulations.
Enforces parking and traffic violations and issues citations for violations.
Collects parking fees in the parking lots on the port & harbor facility.
Assists with parking lot delineation and traffic control as assigned.
Installs and maintains signage used to convey parking rules and information.
Responsible for parking fee collection and vehicle enforcement at the Homer Airport.
Responsible for camp fee collection and camp compliance enforcement at Mariner Park, Pier 1 Theatre, Fishing Hole, and Tent Camp West (beach) locations on the Homer Spit.
Conducts impoundment of vehicles and trailers under the direction and authorization of the harbormaster.
Performs other duties as assigned.
