About The Position

The Traffic Director is responsible for assisting customers by directing traffic at a school parking facility. This position provides on the job training. Pay: $ 18.00 hour The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. Requirements

  • A history of working in the public service industry
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • You must be able to communicate verbally In English and demonstrate the ability to read and write in English.
  • This position requires operating enforcement vehicles and extensive walking daily in all weather conditions.
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Solid employment record
  • Must be computer literate to enter data into handheld device
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols and monitors regulated parking zones in municipal parking lots / streets and initiates appropriate parking enforcement action by Issuing citations (or warnings) to vehicles in violation of municipal parking ordinances, ensuring that all information on the citation is accurate and complete to ensure compliance with parking restrictions and ordinances.
  • Enforce parking ordinances by issuing parking citations to ensure adequate traffic flow and maximize available on-street parking spaces.
  • Responsible for parking enforcement and issuing tickets for parking violations on all City streets, alleys, ramps, lots, public setbacks and terraces.
  • Providing consistent enforcement of parking ordinances
  • Reports signs for replacement and addition from an enforcement standpoint.
  • Completing necessary logs and reports from the enforcement equipment

  • Patrols city parking districts to issue citations to parking violators.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and is capable of driving as part of daily work assignment and driving in all weather conditions.
  • Communicates city parking ordinances and enforcement policies and procedures to the public to encourage compliance.
  • Perform related duties as required by management to meet the needs of the city, including but not limited to, vehicle maintenance, work on weekends for snow and ice enforcement.
  • May perform other duties to ensure productive operations as and when needed.
  • Operates hand-held computer to identify scofflaws and boot-eligible vehicles and impounds vehicles from public right-of-way after determining vehicles are in parking ban, are junked, abandoned, or have not moved in more than 24 hours.
