About The Position
The Parking Control Checker I position is a part-time, seasonal role within the City of Long Beach's Department of Public Works. The primary responsibility of this role is to patrol assigned areas to enforce parking regulations, ensuring compliance with the California Vehicle Code and local ordinances. This includes issuing citations for parking violations, marking tires of vehicles in restricted zones, and providing information to the public regarding parking statutes. The position requires the operation of a City vehicle and automated ticketing equipment, as well as collaboration with street-sweeping personnel.
