About The Position

Serves as an attendant at a university-controlled access parking facility on the Georgetown Law campus. Controls access to assigned parking areas by checking permits/passes, issuing authorized visitor passes, and enforcing parking and safety regulations to support space availability and public safety. Provides information and assistance to visitors and members of the Georgetown Law community, maintains required records and documentation, and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Minimum 6 months cashier and customer service experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation; ability to use time effectively during slower periods.
  • Ability to operate VHF Radio / Desktop Telephone & complete basic daily reconciliation documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior parking operations/controlled-access experience (permits, visitor lists, access control).
  • Experience with point-of-sale tools and applications.
  • Experience handling customer questions in high-traffic periods; de-escalation and service recovery skills.

Responsibilities

  • Control access to assigned parking areas; check all entering vehicles for parking decals/passes.
  • Issue free passes to authorized visitors on the daily visitor list; issue passes and collect fees from other visitors when space is available.
  • Monitor traffic/parking conditions and enforce parking and safety regulations (e.g., keep roadways and fire lanes clear).
  • Maintain accurate daily records of passes issued.
  • Provide directions and information on parking/transportation rules and services; recommend alternate parking when lots are full.
  • Report operational or safety issues to supervisor; complete other duties/special projects as assigned.
