About The Position

The Parking Assistant Lead at Carilion Clinic is responsible for coordinating schedules and training for the Parking Team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and maintaining adherence to established policies and procedures. This role involves providing fill-in coverage, ensuring vehicles are returned in their original condition, managing staging areas for smooth traffic flow, and coordinating with Security Services for parking enforcement and emergency traffic control. The Lead also oversees the day-to-day operations of Campus shuttles, including inspections and maintenance. Key responsibilities extend to staff mentorship, communication, assisting with new staff interviews, selection, orientation, and training, and collaborating with the manager on staff meetings and policy updates. The position also involves identifying and implementing process improvements, leading customer service efforts, performing time-keeping entries, and providing input on staff performance evaluations. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 3 years of related experience required
Valid Virginia Operators License
DMV Driving Record
Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required
Must be able to handle numerous projects simultaneously
Computer skills sufficient to meet key objectives of the position

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree in business or related field preferred
Demonstrated customer service skills and knowledge desired

Responsibilities

Coordinates schedules and training for the Parking Team and maintains appropriate staffing levels.
Ensures staff is adhering to policies and procedures set in place for Parking Assistance.
Responsible for providing fill-in coverage when needed.
Ensures that vehicles are returned in the same condition in which they were received.
Works with team in keeping staging areas clear and maintaining smooth traffic flow in and out of the hospital.
Coordinates with Security Services to patrol and enforce patient/visitor parking areas and assist in emergency situations by directing emergency vehicles and maintaining traffic control as needed.
Oversees day to day operations of Campus shuttles, including inspections and maintenance needs.
Enforces established hospital and department policies and procedures.
Works with manager to update department policies and procedures in timely manner.
Serves as staff mentor on customer service aspects and process improvement.
Communicates in a timely and appropriate manner.
Ensures appropriate staffing coverage for parking locations.
Teams with manager to interview, select, orient, and train new staff.
Provides fill-in coverage when needed
Teams with manager on conducting staff meetings.
May provide analysis to aid in budget information (i.e. monitoring/reporting on overtime, supply ordering etc.)
Identifies process improvement methods for Parking Teams and works with manager for new process implementation.
Creates an environment of continuous performance improvement where productivity and results are monitored and actions for improvement are identified.
Assists in leading customer service effort by incorporating enhanced approaches when dealing with patients, visitors, customers and role modeling Carilion Clinic Values.
Performs UKG time-keeping entries each pay period.
Provides input during the new hire interview process and weighs in on staff performance evaluations.
Teams with manager in the scheduling, maintenance and operations of the Campus shuttles.
