About The Position

The Park Worker 3 position at Fort Montgomery involves performing maintenance and operational tasks at a park or recreational facility. Requirements

• One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility.
• Experience in law enforcement, firefighting, environmental education, or related fields is also qualifying.
• One year of military service in any military branch, or an Associate's degree or higher, or 60 credit hours of college-level coursework.
• Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program or two years of experience as a trade assistant.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in supervising staff or teams.
• Knowledge of environmental stewardship and natural resource management.

Responsibilities

• Perform building and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and trash collection.
• Operate and maintain power-driven mechanical equipment such as trucks, UTVs, mowers, and power tools.
• Assist with repairing trails, archaeological features, and site equipment.
• Perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair activities in trades like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Supervise, assign, review, train, and evaluate work of lower-level employees if assigned.
• Assist with site operations, inventory control, and site security.
• Load and unload cargo from vehicles and maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist in other areas of site operations as needed.
