About The Position

The City of Madison, SD is seeking a hardworking and dependable full-time Park Technician to join our Parks department. This position plays an important role in keeping our community's parks, recreation areas, and public spaces safe, clean, and enjoyable for residents and visitors year-round. This role involves a wide variety of hands-on work, including maintaining park grounds, athletic fields, irrigation systems, and landscaping, as well as assisting with seasonal activities like snow removal, ice rink construction, and holiday decorations. The Park Technician also supports general maintenance of park facilities and equipment, helping ensure everything is in good working order. Work is performed primarily outdoors in all types of weather conditions and requires operating equipment, using hand and power tools, and completing physically demanding tasks. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday call-outs in response to emergencies or seasonal needs.
