Under the supervision of the Park Manager 2, SG-21, the incumbent will supervise lower-level permanent and seasonal staff to ensure timely completion of assignments by subordinate staff and in their absence, perform tasks as required to ensure continued function of work unit, special projects, and special event coordination. Duties include, but are not limited to: Serve as third in command for the operational needs of the park, responsible for the day-to-day supervision of assigned staff. Schedule, assign, and monitor work to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established priorities and standards. Provide clear direction and guidance to staff to maintain effective park operations. Train, supervise, and evaluate seasonal and permanent employees to ensure quality performance and adherence to safety regulations. Assist staff in performing tasks and resolving work-related issues as needed. Plan, direct, develop, and implement small-scale maintenance projects and preventative maintenance programs. Inspect and monitor work to ensure completion within established timeframes and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards. Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, mowers, tractors, and trucks; perform tree and brush removal to eliminate hazards or obstructions within park grounds. Instruct staff in proper work techniques, equipment use, and compliance with safety standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. Review and assess maintenance requests, determine necessary materials, equipment, and labor, conduct site inspections and prioritize and justify projects. Manage seasonal startup and shutdown of outdoor swimming pool including water chemistry management, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as well as cleaning, sanitation and record keeping management of swim facility operations. Collaborate with supervisory staff (first and second-in-command) to investigate and respond to patron complaints. Perform administrative duties, including preparing documentation and requisitions for materials, tools, and supplies in accordance with purchasing guidelines.
