About The Position
As a Park and Recreation Ranger, this position serves as a recognized resource with the sole responsibility for the operation and maintenance of a department shooting range and is responsible for the safety of the range users, visitors, staff and the neighboring public and property. This position is responsible for providing educational and training experiences related to the shooting sports and hunting. The incumbent is responsible for duties to include, but not limited to range operations, maintenance, construction, repair activities, overseeing state workers, operating small to heavy equipment and machinery, health and safety programs, emergency response, preparing reports, maintaining records, and assisting with special projects. The incumbent shall perform all the various types of operational and maintenance duties in accordance with the department's policies and procedures.
