About The Position

The Park Ranger at The Mariners' Museum is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of park users and museum guests. This role combines outdoor responsibilities in the park with indoor duties within the museum, providing a secure environment while delivering excellent customer service. The position requires a passion for the outdoors and a willingness to learn, with a focus on teamwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain various museum-sponsored safety and emergency response certifications.
  • Valid Motor Vehicles driver's license with a good DMV record.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the park and Noland Trail to maintain a positive presence and enforce park rules.
  • Monitor and patrol Mariners' Lake, providing safety support for lake programming.
  • Operate the Control Room, monitoring cameras and alarms, and serve as the first point of contact for visitors.
  • Greet team members and distribute badges in the museum.
  • Monitor locked and secured areas of the museum and enforce rules and expectations.
