About The Position

The Park Ranger (Interpretation) position at Pinnacles National Park involves developing and leading a variety of interpretive programs, including talks, hikes, and evening events. The incumbent will also coordinate the daily operations of the visitor center and assist with special events, while serving as the volunteer coordinator and engaging with the community and external partners.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have language proficiency in Spanish and English - reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
  • Must meet time-in-grade requirements for current or former Federal employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in park management or environmental education.
  • Knowledge of natural resource management or conservation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the volunteer coordinator for Pinnacles National Park.
  • Research, develop, and present interpretive talks and programs for diverse audiences.
  • Manage all aspects of a high-quality interpretive program.
  • Communicate effectively with visitors and representatives of external groups.
  • Coordinate community engagement activities with external partners, community members, and staff.
